I have been raving on about this heat cap for a very long time and I think it’s about time I share it properly! When I say heat cap, i’m referring to the LookGreat Heat Wrap. It’s described as an affordable alternative to expensive salon treatments – believe me, it really is!
First things first, what comes in the box?!
- LookGreat Heat Wrap <<< click here for amazon link!
- 3 Gel inserts: 2 rounded for the sides & 1 long middle one
- Disposable inner plastic cap
The wrap is made of a soft, towel-like material and is tied turban style. It has pockets on the inside for the gel inserts in which you heat up in the microwave or in a pot on the stove. The disposable inner plastic cap, I won’t lie, I misplaced mine after my first use but I bought a pack of like 200 for a few quid off amazon which work exactly the same. They’re designed to keep the heat in and keep the wrap clean.
So ultimately, how this works is:
I wash my hair as normal and when I apply my deep conditioners (mentioned in previous post) I put on a plastic cap them heat up the gel inserts in the microwave. Every microwave is different but I warm each pack for 30seconds at a time 2 or 3 times. Then I use a small hand towel to hold it and put them in the pockets. It usually stays hot for around 40 minutes but as long as I don’t take it off my head it stays pretty warm for an hour after that. I find that it retains the moisture in my hair, I feel like my conditioners are penetrating deep into my hair and I love how soft my hair feels afterwards.
- Easy to store away
- One of my rounded gel packs burst on first use (but easily replaced!)
